Small chefs growing up: family cooking classes
Our aim is always to share our Tuscan lifestyle with you. Pasta expert Giada has organised special Family cooking classes for us, where you leave your children to learn while you take a break (and come back just in time for lunch!)
Giada joins us on our organic path by using only our wheat flour, extra-virgin olive oil and yeast. She will explain the usage and properties of each organic ingredient and you’ll enjoy a yummy tasting at the end! Le Ceregne Biois a teaching farm, which means she’s officially registered to teach our Tuscan traditional food.
This is a particular cooking class fo family, we start at 10:30 am and finish at 2:30 pm. We are going to spend the whole time together making pasta with fresh tomatoes souce, sugar bread or pizza. We cook, sip a cappuccino, laugh and have fun cooking a traditional lunch accompanied by our organic wine!
Private Cooking classes for adults
Our cooking classes are designed to convey the knowledge of healthy, fresh ingredients and their use in recipes from our territory.
First, we will guide you through the recognition of ‘real’ ingredients and how to combine them to get the dishes that represent both our territory and Tuscan traditions throughout the four seasons.
Class starts at 10:30 am and ends at 2:30 pm. We will provide the necessary ingredients for preparation, an apron for cooking, utensils and all of the traditional recipes.
Olive oil tasting
We organize a visit to a mill where the owner will explain to our guests how olive oil is produced, including a visit to the olive trees and an explanation of the production process in the mill.
During the tour, an ‘oil taster’ will explain how to recognise a good olive oil and what characteristics should be judged when buying a bottle. At the end of the tour, there will be a sampling of baked goods made with extra virgin olive oil.
Wine tasting and guided tour
For our wine tasting tour, we organise a visit to an organic “cantina” close to us. Our English-speaking sommelier accompanies guests throughout the visit, where you will learn the production process to make Chianti wine. The tour begins with a visit to the vineyards, discussing the production and aging process within the winery and for an extra treat, we visit the “vinsantaia” which produces organic “vinsanto“, a fine liquor which is typical of Tuscany. The tour includes tasting three different types of wine.
Truffle hunting
Within our estate of 60 hectares, you can collect truffles all year round so we have created a didactic and experiential tour for our guests to enjoy the thrill of truffle hunting with a dog.
Our guided tour is a real experience to understand the peculiarities of this precious tuber: we will begin the tour with a short and interesting explanation of the theory and then a walk in the woods to live the excitement of searching for and collecting truffles, accompanied by an expert truffle hunter and his dog. At the end of the walk, we will delight you with a meal from your prized truffles.
The experience of truffle collection is accessible to all, from children 3 years old to the elderly, thanks to our woods which are not steep, but have rolling hills where you can walk under the great oaks and meet with squirrels, woodpeckers, deer, pheasants and hares.
The tour lasts for 2 hours, followed by a lunch with truffles at the end.
Archery
In our farm, we have an archery school for beginners and a regulation run of 24 platforms with three-dimensional outlines of natural wild animals for experts.
The archery school and the 24 platforms are affiliates at FIARC (Italian Federation of Country Archery). We organise lessons with qualified teachers, and provide all of the necessary equipment. This kind of archery is performed with a traditional bow in the style of Robin Hood.
Yoga
In collaboration with the teacher Mantra Amrit Kaur will be held Kundalini Yoga classes for relaxation of body and mind. The lesson lasts 1 hour and will be held outdoors where enjoy even more, thanks to the contact with nature, the benefits of this discipline. In case of rain, the lesson will be moved to a dedicated internal room.
Horseback riding
In collaboration with the “Cavalieri di Villalba” (Riders of Villalba), we organise horseback riding lessons for beginners.
Horse trekking allows the riders to blend with the peaceful harmony of the surrounding landscape and to enjoy unforgettable moments communicating with nature. Our exquisite Tuscan landscape offers guests moments of breath-taking exhilaration.
